Job description
- Enables consumers to stay in their homes.
- Follows care plan as directed by designated supervisor.
- Monitors consumers condition by observing physical and mental condition, intake and output, and exercise.
- Supports consumers by providing light housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and other household requirements, preparing and serving meals and snacks, and running errands.
- Assists consumers by providing personal care services, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Helps consumers care for themselves by assisting with the use of cane or walker, special utensils to eat, adaptive equipment, reminders with medication and person-centered support for personal hygiene.
- Notifies designated supervisor of changes, concerns, or unusual conditions with consumer.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment.
- Maintains security precautions.
- Follows prescribed dietary requirements and nutrition standards.
Job qualifications
- Age 18 years or older (age 21 and older if providing transportation)
- Ability and willingness to help with all or most of the job duties (some training available)
- Professional, compassionate, mature, and trustworthy
- Open to feedback and learning new approaches to care
- Able to legally work in the United States with proper documents
- Reliable transportation and backup transportation
- Satisfactory results of a CORI and National Criminal Background Check
- Verifiable references
Helpful but not required:
- Massachusetts Certifications/Licenses related to caregiving such as CNA, HHA, PCA, CPR/First Aid
- Driver's license/adult permit and a reliable, insured vehicle are preferred but not required
- COVID Vaccination completed and up-to-date.

Caregivers who can drive themselves to work are preferred, but it is not a requirement. We do, however, require that you have a reliable person who can bring you to and from your clients' homes at the times you are scheduled to work and a backup form of transportation. Some clients are accessible by public transportation, but many are not.
